WFM - Adding Holidays

 

Step 1: Go to Global Settings > Time Off > Holiday

Step 2: Select Company, Group or Employee 

  • Select Company if the holiday applies to the whole company
  • Select Group if the holiday applies to a specific Group
  • Select Employee if the holiday applies to a specific employee / employees

Step 3: Click + to create a new rule or  click on the pencil to edit an existing rule

Step 4: Add Holiday Rule section populates

  • Select Add next to Add Holiday

Step 5: New "Holiday" box will populate

  • Enter name of holiday in the name field
  • Holiday type
    • One time - if holiday is not recurring
    • Recurring - if the holiday is recurring
    • Advanced - adding multiple days to a holiday

Add Single-Occurrence Holiday

Step 1: Holiday Type: One Time

Step 2: Enter the name of the Holiday

Step 3: Enter Observed Date

Step 4: Proceed to Step 7.

Add Recurring Holiday

Step 1: Holiday Type: Recurring

Step 2:  Select the Month

Step 3: Select one of the following to Enter the date

  • Select the specific date the holiday falls on.
  • Select the consistency of the holiday e.g. the last Monday of the Month.
  • Nearest Weekday - Select to ensure the holiday falls on a weekday.

Step 4: Proceed to Step 7.

Add Multiple days for a single holiday

Adding consecutive days for 1 holiday. 

Step 1: Holiday Type: Advanced

Step 2: Recurrency

  • Select Months 
  • Select specific (choose one ore more) - This sections indicates the months that the holiday falls in eg: This holiday runs from September to October

  • Select Days tab 
  • Specific (choose one ore more)
    • Select the relevant days that apply eg: This specific holiday runs from 9/25 to 10/5 (weekend days excluded).

 

Step 3: Select Holiday Hours Paid

  • Full Day - Hours worked, set in company settings (default 8)
  • Half Day - Half of full day hours set in company settings (default 4)
  • Specific Hours - Based on company preference.

Step 4: Enforce Minimum Hours before Holiday (optional)

  • Employees are expected to work a set number of hours right before the holiday to qualify for paid holiday time off.

Step 5: Enforce Minimum Hours After Holiday (optional)

  • Employees are expected to work a set number of hours after the holiday to qualify for paid holiday time off.

Step 6: Override Full/Half day hours with scheduled hours

  • Assign scheduled hours as the default

Step 7: Click OK

Step 8: This takes you back to the Edit Rules page.

  • Create a Rule name.  Select the names that populates in the box
  • Choose an Effective Start Date  (recommended to backdate)

Step 9: Select
