Payroll Check dates

At Brands, our goal is to support your business with timely, accurate payroll processing—and that means balancing flexibility with compliance. We want to clarify our payroll submission policy to help you avoid potential disruptions or penalties.

Policy Reminder: No Same-Day Payrolls

Our long-standing policy is that payrolls must be submitted with a check date that is at least 2 business days in advance.

 

Why This Matters

Tax payments are often due as soon as the day after the check date. To meet these deadlines, we must have funds available in advance. Without that lead time:

  • We cannot guarantee on-time tax deposits.

  • Clients may face penalties or interest from taxing authorities.

  • Our full payroll guarantee only applies when:

    • Payroll is submitted at least 2 business days before the check date, and

    • The account is fully funded with no non-sufficient funds (NSF).

Planning Ahead

We always aim to process payrolls quickly—even early when possible—but issues beyond our control can occasionally cause delays (e.g., IRS systems, regulatory changes, or banking issues).

To protect your business and maintain compliance, we strongly recommend submitting payrolls at least 2 business days in advance of your desired check date.
